I’m back on EZ again… this time it’s the Gamony from Knitter’s Almanac and the Very Warm Hat from the Opinionated Knitter.
The outside is barely-spun Icelandic Lopi (scraps from this sweater made by Aunt Dot during the 70s), the inside is a double strand of Silky Wool. Knitted on sz 10 / 6 mm needles.
Wool, silk, and more wool…. world’s warmest hat.
Mods: Gauge was 3.5 sts/in. I had limited Lopi so I stopped the increases before indicated in the pattern and added a 3rd line of decreases at the top. All kudos to Mandy for the extra decrease idea, it makes a cozy skull snuggling fit.
Granted, the double layer hat is not necessary in our rather pathetic Oregon winters, but hey, that’s not why I knit!!
