I got bored.
The wool reminded me greatly of traditional Arans and Ganseys so I pulled out Knitting Workshop (again with the Zimmermann!!) and lifted the stitch pattern off Gaffer’s Gansey.
Yes, Ganseys are supposed to have patterning over the chest and shoulders with plain tummies. But this is a top-down sweater so we might as well be completely upside down.
I’m thinking about traditional gansey armpit gussets too. It takes more ease to get arms into a pullover than a cardi… EZ wrote the pattern not quite in accordance with her EPS. The sleeves are 35% at the top. Again, it works fine for a cardigan, but I’m worried it might be a bit snug for a toddler pullover. If I’d realized this at the armpits I could have increased both body and sleeve sts, but it’s a little late now.
Oh well. Enjoy your weekend and your Harry Potter!
