Every time I get something off the needles all my WIPs start shrieking “Hey idiot! You haven’t worked on me in weeks!! Do the right thing! KNIT ME!!!”
I ruthlessly closed my ears and cast on a Tomten for Gabriel. This is a secret birthday knit, so don’t tell him. Gabriel, if you’re reading this, stop. Remember that you are only 2 and should not be reading anything yet.
And after some good cast-on therapy I blog surfed and saw Yarn Harlot’s new Baby Surprise Jacket (sorry no link, I can’t get her page right now.) Sooo cute. And she said it knit up in 6-8 hours. Really? here my thoughts were interrupted by the plaintive wailing from a BSJ sitting on my shelf gathering dust. 6-8 hours? OK, let’s go!
So I pulled it out and started knitting. And what do you know, if you work on it it actually grows!! Amazing really. I shelved the project- hating it- with only 6 ridges done, and after a dedicated 3 hours I finished the decreases and am really enjoying myself!
No idea who might end up receiving this jacket, or how large it will turn out. The colors are turning out lovely, it reminds me of Valentines.
