What have we been up to?
I finished up Nikolai’s squirrel mittens and a matching hat. I did a funky hem job trying to make it smaller, but it just looked crappy so that came out later. I know it’s way too big. That’s the trouble with trying to use up the acrylic.
I made a Ribwarmer for my Mom’s birthday. I hate garter stitch so I’ve been avoiding it, but I finally finished it up last night and blocked it. I’m hoping it will be dry by the birthday party tomorrow! Lots more on this one at Zimmermania.
The triangle shawl is finished. I’m calling it the Shhimple Shhevron Shhawl. Just for fun. It’s quite warm and nice. Very utilitarian and not too beautiful.
The Wishbone sweater I was working on just wasn’t coming out right. I frogged the yoke 5 times before I decided to start over from scratch. It’s now a wonderful top-down raglan. I tried steeking for the first time and it went very well. Colorwork wasn’t too wonky… Except for running out of yarn and not being able to get more….. I LOVE this sweater. Definately my favorite so far.
I’ve also been knitting away at HelloYarn’s Cycling Aran. I’ve been drooling over this pattern since October when I first found her site. Being the nutjob that I am, I rewrote the pattern to be knitted as a steeked top-down raglan as I hate knitting in pieces. No pictures yet.
Also on the raglan train I’ve been working on EZ’s Cousin Nalgar. An upside-down top-down raglan essentially. Fun pattern to knit, but I think I’ve screwed up somewhere… You see, the sleeves are angling up instead of down. My sweater is waving at me! Hmmm. Block and pray?
