When the twins opened their sweaters today their mother exclaimed:
“Oh my gosh! These are gorgeous! Peggy, I’m going to make them wear these until they’re 20!”
I assured her that I would knit them new sweaters before then… But really, comments like that…. that is is why I knit.
Maroon-Sweater-Twin, Tyler, promptly put on his sweater and told everyone that he didn’t want to play with anyone anymore because “I’m wearing my new sweater so you can’t touch me and I want to be by myself.”
Size-wise, the twins lie right between my boys, so I measured one garment of each and took the average. It was a small gamble, but the fit was perfect. I’m floating on the Cloud Nine of Knitters right now.
And if that wasn’t enough, I finished up the first Jaywalker while the kids were in the bath. It fits perfectly and is extremely soft and comfy. I would definately recommend Tofutsies as a fabulous yarn for socks. But we already knew that, it says so right on the band!

Whoa, those Jaywalkers are WAY cool, and I LOVE the color. Glad the twins liked their sweaters. I still can’t get Lindsay to take off her “princess dress” as she calls it.
Your creations are certainly appreciated and treasured. If only I were so creative. I’ll have to get my butt in gear and learn how to knit.
What a great response to your beautiful handknits! I think that may be how we all want our gifts to go over! Great job. And that Tofutsies is a perfect colorway for jaywalkers. Love it!
What great reactions to your gifts! Knitters *live* for those kinds of responses.
Your Jaywalker is lovely. I’m knitting up the same yarn and colorway into Monkeys, and I totally agree: Tofutsies is a great yarn. Although, after seeing your sock, I’m considering frogging my Monkey and knitting the Jaywalker instead…. hmm…
Those are definitely well-deserved compliments. They were fantastic! The tofutsies are so pretty. I haven’t yet seen any around here to purchase.
I’m glad the twins’ mom appreciated the sweaters properly (not to mention at least one of the twins!). So many people don’t understand what goes into handmade gifts.
The Jaywalker is gorgeous. It’s inspiring me to pick up and finish the one I have started… if it’s really that cool today. I’m also still trying to find a LYS that has Tofutsies.
That’s so awesome one of the boys put it right on!
As for that Jaywalker, I’m entirely jealous of your knitting mojo right now.
Knit on~
It is so wonderful how your family reacted to your knitted gifts. That would definitely put you in knitters heaven. If you I appreciate you empathizing with my personal experience and your comment on my blog. Particularly since your *oc*s are behaving properly. Obviously, I need to take your disciplinary advice. Your *oc*s are beautiful!!!!!

Oh, the socks are gorgeous! And what perfect responses to knitted gifts!! I’m glad they fully appreciated them!
